Fiji Airports says it is aware of the global tech outage and is monitoring the situation.

In a Facebook post, CEO, Mesake Nawari, confirms that Nadi International Airport services are normal and there has not been a report of services affected.

According to the BBC, there have been major IT outages across the world that have hit the travel, banking and healthcare industries with close to 1,400 flights cancelled.

The cybersecurity firm allegedly at the centre of the crisis, Crowdstrike, reportedly says a “defect” in one of its software updates hit Windows operating systems

It has been reported that the company says a fix has been deployed, but Crowdstrike also says it “could be some time” before systems are fully back up and running.
