The Republic of Fiji Military Forces Engineers Regiment 1/24 Trade Training School graduation was held on Friday, 26 July, at the Nabuni Camp in Nabua.
Brigadier General Onisivoro Covunisaqa, while officiating the event, congratulated the recipients for their resilience and dedication throughout the one year of training to become qualified engineers.
He highlighted that this Trade Training School course included the first female graduate, marking a significant achievement for both the engineers and the RFMF as a whole.
Brigadier General Covunisaqa quoted the former Fiji Prime Minister Ratu Sir Kaminisese Mara’s vision for the Trade Training School, which was to train young men for Fiji’s needs.
He urged the graduates to continue to improve themselves, becoming better soldiers and sappers whilst adhering to the customs and traditions of the RFMF Engineers Regiment.
“We can all agree that this aim was well archived by these thirty-six (36) sappers today, and I congratulate you all, the course participants and the instructors, for that. Keep improving yourselves to become not only better at what you do but also better soldiers and sappers as well. Closely follow and adhere to the customs and traditions of the RFMF Engineers Regiment.”
He concluded his speech by thanking the parents, guardians, relatives, and friends for their support.
