The Fijian Drua has today announced the signing of national under-20 reps Breyton Legge and John Muller into the club’s Development programme for the 2025 season. The Drua’s Development programme is an important feeder into the main Super Rugby Pacific squad.
Loosehead Prop Legge has made 9 appearances for the Fiji Under 20 side since 2022 and played at the recent U20 World Rugby Championship in South Africa.
Legge said, “It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and playing in the super rugby competition.”
Muller featured for Fiji in the U20 World Cup in 2021 and was part of the Fiji Warriors side which won the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023. The young prop was also the Northland rugby team’s captain in this season of the local provincial competition.
Sharing his excitement, Muller said “It is a dream come true and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team.”
Speaking on the recent appointment of the two new players, Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa said “Both Legge and
Muller were part of Fiji Rugby’s HPU program and I’m happy to see their progression into Drua Development. They bring good depth into our props.”
Rawaqa added “Legge is a skilled player and quick learner. Muller is a hardworking player and brings aggression in both attack and defence. And I know with more professional development through Drua, the boys will easily progress to the next level.”
Development players who have been promoted and earned Super Rugby Pacific contracts in the past two years include Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce and Sikeli Rabitu.
