An Australian Company has been selected to develop the feasibility study for Nutraceutical and Medicinal Cannabis Industries in Fiji.
PharmOut has been selected with the support of the Australian Government and Market Development Facility.
This was revealed during the Cabinet meeting where they considered the Medicinal Cannabis Industry Feasibility Study Report.
The feasibility study undertaken by PharmOut has provided a comprehensive report on
Economic and Market feasibility and due diligence on relevant laws, regulations, and case studies.
It also provides Operational and Financial viability, which includes logistics, legislation, the investment environment, guidance on legislation, and assessment of potential benefits and socio-economic impacts.
The report also highlights risk assessment regarding illicit use and reputational risks.
Cabinet also approved the drafting of the Medicinal Cannabis legislation, which will be undertaken in consultation with the Office of the Solicitor-General and the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
