Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sitiveni Rabuka was formally welcomed at Singapore’s Parliament House today with a ceremonial Guard of Honour, as he commenced his official two-day visit to the Southeast Asian nation.
Singapore’s Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Lawrence Wong, personally received his Fijian counterpart at the state ceremony, which included the playing of both national anthems and a formal inspection of the guard by Prime Minister Rabuka.
This marks Prime Minister Rabuka’s second official visit to Singapore, the first taking place in 1998. His return signals a renewed push to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
The visit aims to bolster cooperation in key areas such as sustainable development, inclusive growth, and regional collaboration across the Asia-Pacific.
Fiji’s leadership views the trip as an opportunity to deepen diplomatic and economic engagement with Singapore, a strategic partner in the region.
Prime Minister Rabuka’s engagements during the visit are expected to include high-level discussions focused on advancing shared priorities in climate resilience, innovation, and trade.
