Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, MSMEs and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica, engaged in a virtual meeting with the United States Trade Representative, H.E. Ambassador Jamieson Greer, on Wednesday (23 April 2025) to discuss opportunities for deepening trade and economic cooperation.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral trade relations between Fiji and the United States, a partnership grounded in shared democratic values and longstanding diplomatic ties.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding trade and investment between the two nations. Discussions also touched on identifying practical steps to remove trade barriers, support small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and build capacity for exporters.

Minister Kamikamica highlighted the importance of the United States as a key economic partner and expressed Fiji’s interest in exploring new trade and investment avenues, particularly in the areas of renewable energy, tourism, digital services, and agriculture.

Ambassador Greer commended Fiji’s ongoing economic reforms and underscored the U.S. government’s readiness to support initiatives that promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the Pacific.

This dialogue is part of broader efforts to elevate Fiji–U.S. relations through increased commercial engagement and cooperation on regional development goals.
