A group of volunteers helped clean up Shirley Park in Lautoka following damage caused by TC Vaianu.
Large trees were blown over during the cyclone, blocking walkways and making the park unsafe for the public.
On Saturday, April 11, 2026, members of Shincheonji Volunteers carried out a cleanup to restore the park. The team removed fallen trees, cleared branches, and collected debris left behind by the storm.
Volunteer Peni said the effort was not just about cleaning, but also about supporting the community during a difficult time.
The group worked throughout the morning using tools to cut and remove large tree trunks and tidy the area.
Their work helped reopen pathways and made the park safe again for residents.
People in Lautoka thanked the volunteers for their quick response and support.
The volunteers shared that they were happy to help.
The cleanup highlights the importance of community support following natural disasters.
