Sakiasi Ditoka welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Fiji, Noel M. Novicio, during a courtesy visit at the Ministry’s headquarters in Suva on Thursday.
During the meeting, Minister Ditoka reaffirmed the strong diplomatic relationship shared between Fiji and the Philippines, highlighting the importance of the Philippines’ diplomatic presence in Fiji as a sign of both nations’ commitment to strengthening cooperation across the Pacific region.
He said the growing partnership would open doors for greater collaboration and practical engagement on regional and international priorities.
Minister Ditoka also acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Filipino community in Fiji, particularly in the healthcare sector, where Filipino professionals have supported national development since the 1970s.
Key discussions during the meeting centred on labour mobility, trade and investment, agriculture and aquaculture, disaster risk management, and broader regional cooperation.
