Several emerging football talents have earned spots in the 21-member Fiji Kulas squad for the upcoming Hong Kong Tour, showcasing the growing strength of women’s football in Fiji.
Among the standout selections are Labasa College student and goalkeeper Beatirice Qaniuci, along with Kamil Muslim College student Ulamila Rasovasova, both of whom have impressed through the national youth development pathway.
Qaniuci previously represented Fiji at Under-16 level and is also part of the extended Fiji Girls Futsal squad preparing for the Youth Olympic Games in Senegal later this year.
Her inclusion in the senior women’s team marks a major step forward in her football career.
The young goalkeeper described the selection as a dream come true, saying she was proud to represent her family, school, and the people of Labasa while looking forward to learning from senior players during the tour.
Forward Ulamila Rasovasova from Ba has also received her first senior national team call-up after earlier appearances for Fiji’s Under-16 and Under-19 teams.
Known for her speed and attacking ability, Rasovasova said she was thankful for the opportunity to wear the national jersey again and gain valuable experience at senior level.
First-time selections have also been awarded to Selai Nai and overseas-based goalkeeper Aliana Vakaloloma.
The Fiji Kulas will depart this weekend for Hong Kong, where they are scheduled to play two FIFA international friendlies against the Hong Kong women’s national team on June 3 and 6.
The squad combines experienced campaigners with rising young players as Fiji continues building towards future regional and international competitions.
