The Seventh-day Adventist Church has reaffirmed its support for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces during a courtesy visit to Commander Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai at the RFMF Strategic Headquarters in Suva.

The Church’s President in Fiji, Pastor Epeli Saukuru, congratulated the Commander on his reappointment and assured him of the Church’s continued prayers and backing as the RFMF carries out its constitutional duties, including protecting Fiji’s sovereignty, strengthening national security, and contributing to international peacekeeping missions.

During the meeting, Major General Kalouniwai stressed the importance of faith, discipline, and youth development in shaping responsible citizens and stronger communities.

He also outlined the RFMF’s collaboration with faith-based organisations through leadership and character-building programmes aimed at addressing social issues and invited the Seventh-day Adventist Church to become a partner in those initiatives.

Pastor Saukuru thanked the Commander for the opportunity to meet and acknowledged the service of RFMF personnel both locally and overseas.

He said the Church was pleased to congratulate the Commander on his reappointment while reaffirming its ongoing prayers and support for him and the men and women serving in the military.

Pastor Saukuru also expressed the Church’s commitment to working alongside the RFMF to help tackle social challenges affecting the country.

Major General Kalouniwai thanked the Church for its continued support and welcomed closer cooperation in promoting leadership, positive values, and spiritual growth among Fiji’s youth.

The visit highlighted the longstanding partnership between the RFMF and faith-based organisations in promoting national unity, responsible leadership, and stronger communities.
