New Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Brad Mooar is leaning on his extensive coaching experience as he prepares to lead the club into the upcoming Super Rugby Pacific season.

Mooar says one of his key priorities is building on the strong culture already established within the team while ensuring players continue to meet high standards on and off the field.

The experienced coach believes a successful team is built on players’ willingness to work hard for one another, stressing that effort is a non-negotiable part of representing the Drua.

“For us, effort is compulsory,” Mooar said, emphasizing the importance of creating an environment where every player is committed to the team’s goals and values.

Drawing inspiration from the various coaching roles he has held throughout his career, Mooar says he intends to use those experiences to help guide the Drua forward as they prepare for a new chapter.

While demanding hard work and accountability, Mooar also wants his players to enjoy their rugby. He says maintaining a sense of fun is important, but it must be balanced with the drive and determination needed to compete at the highest level.

As preparations continue for the new Super Rugby Pacific campaign, Mooar remains focused on strengthening the team’s culture, fostering unity, and ensuring players are willing to do the hard work required to achieve success.
