Merchant Finance has contributed sponsorship funding towards preparations for the 2026 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Competition, helping organisers manage administrative costs ahead of the annual sporting event.
The sponsorship was formally handed over by Merchant Finance General Manager Central, Mitesh Kumar, in support of the committee’s preparations for the competition, which is scheduled for November 19 and 20.
Receiving the contribution on behalf of the RSBC Chairman, Captain Timoci Yabakivou expressed appreciation for the company’s support, noting the role of corporate partnerships in helping organisers fulfil their responsibilities and coordinate the event.
This year’s competition will also carry a message beyond the sporting arena, with the theme “DRUG-FREE FIJI” highlighting the need for collective action against drug-related challenges affecting individuals, families and communities.
Organised by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), the competition will once again bring together the RFMF and the Fiji Police Force (FPF) in their longstanding sporting rivalry.
Alongside the competition, organisers will have an opportunity to raise awareness about the consequences of illegal drug use and encourage communities to work together towards a safer and healthier Fiji.
Merchant Finance’s sponsorship reflects the contribution businesses can make by supporting national sporting events while helping promote messages that address wider community concerns.
