National Federation Party MP Pio Tikoduadua says he is still considering a letter regarding the party’s directive for its members to vote against the Constitution Amendment Bill at its third reading in Parliament this week.

Responding to Fiji One News,Tikoduadua says he had not yet made up his mind on how he would vote, saying he was considering the letter.

Asked whether he had been approached by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Tikoduadua said he was still considering the matter.

The NFP has directed its MPs to vote against the Constitution Amendment Bill at its third reading.

Meanwhile, NFP MP Lenora Qereqeretabua confirmed that she will follow party directive and vote against the Bill.

NFP Leader Professor Biman Prasad says he expects all NFP Members of Parliament to understand and respect the party’s principles and directives ahead of the third reading of the Constitution Amendment Bill.

He made the comments when asked whether he was concerned that Tikoduadua had yet to make up his mind on how he would vote on the Bill, despite the party directing its MPs to vote against it.

He adds all members understand they have been elected on the party’s platform and should respect its principles and directives.
