A fun walk in Suva honors the 50th anniversary of friendship between Fiji and Indonesia.

As part of the festivities honoring the 50th anniversary of the bilateral partnership between Fiji and Indonesia, a 5-kilometer fun walk was held in Suva this morning.

The enjoyable stroll, which was attended by invited guests from different organizations, began in Albert Park and went up Queen Elizabeth Drive to the Suva Grammar School roundabout before making a loop around it.

Chief Justice and President in transition The honored guest for the function was His Lordship Salesi Temo. Ratu Seremaia Tui Cavuilati, the former ambassador of Fiji to Indonesia, was also in attendance.

Members of the Diplomatic Corps, officials from the Fijian government, as well as past recipients, present students, families, and friends of the Indonesian Scholarships for Fiji, participated in the event, which was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Fiji-Indonesia Friendship Association.

Fiji is extremely lucky to have Indonesia as a powerful friend. Both countries are dedicated to developing even stronger connections and helping one another in areas of shared interest in regional and international debates.

His Excellency Dupito D. Simamora, the ambassador of Indonesia to Fiji, made a resolute speech at the ceremony, stressing the significance of celebrating the friendship and fortifying connections between the two countries.

According to Ambassador Simamora, “there will be several celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Fiji, including this enjoyable walk.”

“There will definitely be more in the series, but last summer’s joint seminar with FNU and the establishment of the Friendship Association marked an important milestone. However, there is much more than just a celebration at this follow-up event. It represents our wonderful journey together and, ideally, many more wonderful exchanges between our two nations.

It was stated that Fiji and Indonesia are committed to a future of greater cooperation, shared prosperity, and enduring friendship as we begin the next chapter of our bilateral ties.
