Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Biman Prasad met with the Asian Development Bank’s Chief Economist Albert Park in Suva today.

DPM Prasad acknowledged the continued support of the ADB and outlined other opportunities for partnership in the commercial, agricultural and climate change spaces.

Discussions also centered on ADB implemented projects and assistance, increased private sector engagement, strong rebound in the tourism industry and the economy.

ADB chief economist Albert Park commended the Fiji government in managing the economy during the pandemic and reassured ADB’s continuous support in financing development.

Also present at the meeting was ADB’s regional director Aaron Batten and Permanent Secretary for Finance Shiri Goundar.
