Attorney General Siromi Turaga continues to advocate on the pressing issue of drugs in the country. While speaking at the celebration of World Press Freedom Day organised by the Fiji Media Association, the AG says there was no concrete action done by the previous Government to address this issue.

The AG has revealed that he was shocked to learn that there may be people in authority who are involved in the drug trade.

Attorney General Siromi Turaga claims that the law enforcement agencies were not up to par which resulted in the mess that we now have today.

He says from this conversation the concern shows the big issue we have in the country.

Speaking on the panel of discussion on freedom of the press, the AG urged the media to reach out to grassroots levels to raise awareness on this issue

Turaga will be traveling to Gau this evening to attend an annual Lomaiviti conference and will be advocating on this issue.
