Blackrock camp hosts 2024 UN assessment for mission service preparation

Brigadier General Manoa Gadai, stated in his opening address yesterday at the AMS (Assessment for Mission Service) preparation workshop, which was supported by the AFP (Australian Federal Police) at the UN school – Peacekeeping Centre at Blackrock camp in Nadi, expressing gratitude to the Acting Police Commissioner and the Australian Federal Police for conducting the workshop.

He also stated that the UN Policing workshop is solely about sharpening their technical skill and that it was an opportunity to foster lifelong relationships. He also reiterates that the connections forged in this event, along with the trust and friendship built would nurture the lifeblood of their security forces.

Brigadier General Gadai also added on that in conducting the UN policing workshop at Blackrock camp marked an important milestone for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), by establishing it as a regional center of excellence for United Nations training.

The workshop is said to take two-weeks and is co-facilitated by the AFP Law Enforcement Cooperation and the Fiji Police Peace Support unit; it empathizes the efforts under the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement cooperation program.

Also in attendance were the representatives from the Fiji Police Force, Samoa Police, Tonga Police, Prisons & Correction Service, Kiribati Police Service, Vanuatu Police Force, and Nauru Police Force.
