24-year-old cashier, Talei Siteri Bola, charged with 91 counts of theft has been remanded in custody after appearing at the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon.

Bola is alleged to have between October 2021 until September 2022 committed the offences, whilst employed as a supermarket cashier in Nabua.

During the month of October 2021, she was provided with a Point of Sale Station login, where she allegedly created her own password and conducted the transactions.

On the 23rd of September 2022, an audit led to the discovery of more than $46,000 allegedly misappropriated by the accused, where she stole cash and assorted groceries from a supermarket through quotes for her personal use.

The court gave Bola two weeks to meet the bail conditions, where she has to pay two thousand dollars.

Bail conditions would also include reporting to Nabua Police Station every Friday and not to change her residential address without notice.

Bola has been ordered not to interfere with witnesses and not to reoffend.

She has been ordered to provide two sureties with non cash bonds of two thousand dollars.

Although she does not have travel documents, a stop departure order has been issued against her.

The case will be called again on the 16th of this month for bail hearing.
