In a vibrant celebration of Pacific friendship and kinship, the President of the Republic of Fiji, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, and Emily Lalabalavu hosted a State Banquet last night in honour of the State Visit of Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of the Kingdom of Tonga.

Held at the State House, the evening reflected the enduring bonds between Fiji and Tonga; rooted in shared history, cultural ties, and a commitment to regional unity. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and Mrs. Sulueti Rabuka were among the distinguished guests, alongside Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, and high-level representatives from across government and society.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Rabuka, at the request of the President, offered a toast on behalf of the Government and people of Fiji. He extended heartfelt wishes for the continued good health of Their Majesties and the lasting prosperity of the Tongan people.

“Your Majesties, your visit is a reminder of the deep bonds of kinship and mutual respect that our nations share. We are honoured by your presence and look forward to strengthening our cooperation for the good of our Pacific family,” said Prime Minister Rabuka.

The banquet served as a cultural and diplomatic highlight of the Royal Visit, reinforcing both nations’ shared commitment to Pacific solidarity, peace, and prosperity.
