The Royal Fiji Navy Commander Captain Timoci Natuva has been promoted to the rank of Commodore, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career.

The promotion reflects his exceptional leadership, dedication, and contributions to both national and international maritime operations.

Commodore Natuva, began his naval journey in 1999. Over the past 25 years, he has risen through the ranks, holding key positions such as Maritime Commander, Support Commander, and Fleet Operations Officer.

His extensive experience spans maritime security, humanitarian missions, and international peacekeeping, including deployments in Iraq and the Golan Heights under United Nations mandates.

Commodore Natuva’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Fiji Navy’s operational capabilities.

His command roles aboard patrol boats and at the Navy Training Base have strengthened Fiji’s maritime readiness.

Internationally, he served as Chief Liaison Officer for the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), where he mediated between Syrian and Israeli forces, earning accolades for his diplomatic and tactical acumen.

A lifelong learner, Commodore Natuva holds advanced degrees in Military and Defence Studies from the Australian National University and National Security from Deakin University.
