Digicel is pleased to launch a new feature for its MyCash service enabling Digicel customers to make transfers from the MyCash mobile wallet platform directly to their bank accounts by dialling *888#, providing more options for MyCash users to access withdrawals without having to visit a Digicel Store or authorised MyCash Agent.

Dedicated to providing seamless and secure mobile financial transactions, MyCash has grown significantly allowing customers to make QR payments when shopping, buying top up, remote bill payments and sending money across Fiji instantly.

To move money from the MyCash mobile wallet to a bank account for more withdrawal options, customers need to dial *888# and select Option 6 for ‘Bank Transfer’.  Customers will need to follow the steps and also input the recipient’s correct bank details and the transfer amount.  The transfer request will be authorised with the MyCash customer’s secure 4-digit PIN code.

Farid Mohammed, Digicel Fiji CEO, said; “We are excited to welcome this additional option for our MyCash customers to access withdrawals, and minimise the wait time when queuing at our Digicel Stores or MyCash Agents. This is another milestone achievement in our partnership with the BSP after we had launched the BSP IPG integration allowing MyCash customers to deposit money in their wallet via Digicel Selfcare using their BSP EasyCard or any Bank’s VISA Credit or Debit card. Being able to provide our customers the option of moving money between their mobile wallet and increasing the number of safe access points for them to access their money.”

BSP Country Head Haroon Ali said, “We are delighted to partner with Digicel in this new service enhancement that enables MyCash customers to transfer funds to any bank account.  This provides customers with choices; the freedom to purchase or get cash-out using an EFTPOS terminal, withdraw at ATMs, use BSP’s Internet Payment Gateway to shop online, or save into any bank account as they please.  Giving customers choices and the financial tools to manage their own money is essential for the improvement of their long-term financial wellbeing.”

Digicel’s Regional Head of Financial Services, Anup Kumar, said; “Launching of the MyCash wallet to bank transfers is another fantastic initiative for improving our customer’s experience with MyCash when they are looking to withdraw money.  Customers simply need to dial *888# and follow prompts to get started.  This now opens up additional access points for MyCash customers.”

“Over the past year, we have worked with our partners and stakeholders to continue enhancing the MyCash product and services.  From increasing MyCash QR payment options at key merchants, bill and business payments across Fiji to growing our network of withdrawal access points, we will continue striving to be more accessible for our customers across the country,” concludes Kumar.

MyCash is the mobile wallet that gives access to digital money as a USSD service via dialling *888# or as an accessible zero-rated MyCash App.  Customers only need to sign up with a Digicel mobile number and choose a secure PIN code to secure their account.  The MyCash service also requires this PIN code to confirm and make transactions securely.
