Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica recently visited Wayalailai Eco Haven, Naqalia Resort and Yasawa Tropical Dive, engaging with owners and stakeholders to discuss the challenges and operations of these unique tourism establishments.
The resorts, part of the Yasawa tourism marketing cooperative, are integral to promoting sustainable tourism while showcasing the natural beauty of the Yasawa Islands.
During his visit, Kamikamica listened closely to the experiences shared by the resort owners, learning about the innovative strategies they have implemented to overcome operational challenges while upholding the high standards that make these destinations exceptional.
The visit highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the tourism sector, particularly in remote, community-driven areas like the Yasawas and Waya.
Kamikamica emphasised the importance of creating a supportive environment for local operators, ensuring their continued contributions to the economy and the community.
This engagement reflects the government’s broader vision to adopt collaboration, address key issues, and support sustainable growth across Fiji’s tourism industry.
