The Fiji Higher Education Commission has welcomed a new era of leadership with the appointment of Dr. Eci Tekuru Naisele as its new Director.
Dr. Naisele, a respected academic and education specialist, brings more than 30 years of experience in the education sector.
Hailing from Qoma Island in Tailevu, Dr. Naisele’s appointment is being recognised as a strategic move, reinforcing the government’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in higher education.
Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro welcomes the new appointment, and adds that Dr Naisele will be of great value to the Commission.
Dr Naisele’s academic background includes a Master of Education from the University of Technology in Sydney, as well as a Bachelor and Diploma in Education from the University of the South Pacific, including a PHD from Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi in New Zealand, where his research earned him the Outstanding Indigenous Research Award in 2023.
