Traffic investigators have identified and located the individual believed to be responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident in Nabou earlier this week, which claimed the life of a man in his 50s.
According to police, the man, who was initially reported as a victim and transported to the Nadi Hospital, is now alleged to have provided misleading information by claiming the driver had fled the scene.
Further investigations have revealed that he was, in fact, behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
The suspect remains admitted at the Nadi Hospital while police continue their inquiries into the incident.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is still active, with further updates expected as more details emerge.
