In Fiji:
Permanent Secretary for Education Selina Kuruleca is confident the ministry will be allocated enough funds to carry out their plans for the new financial year.
The Ministry of Education was allocated $505.4 million in the 2023-2024 Budget, the highest for the financial year.
$12 million dollars was allocated to support the ongoing rehabilitation and construction of schools.
She adds addressing the pay issue with teachers is urgent so that the education of our students is not disrupted.
