Fiji Television Limited celebrated its 30th anniversary yesterday as the country’s first-ever commercial television company.
Fiji TV’s journey started in 1994 with humble beginnings, but with a steadfast commitment to excellence.
Fiji Television CEO Sunjeewa Perera said that Fiji Television will continue to provide Fijians with compelling and engaging content.
“Over these 30 years, I’m immensely proud of our dedicated team and equally grateful for the unwavering support of our partners, viewers and friends.”
Perera said despite the challenges of the pandemic, Fiji TV has remained at the forefront of the media landscape.
Permanent Secretary for Communications, Shaheen Ali while officiating at the event highlighted that with the advent of the communication revolution, Fiji TV has kept up with the trend and established a robust online presence.
He said that these advancements have ensured that viewers have seamless access to diverse programs and content anytime, anywhere.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, I urge all media organisations to follow Fiji TV’s example of commercial success through cutting-edge offerings and innovative strategies and keeping your fingers on the pulse of what the Fijian people demand in terms of engaging content.”
“We have to acknowledge the place in history Fiji Television has played in ushering in Television broadcasting in Fiji – a milestone the younger generation in Fiji may take for granted,” said Ali.
