The Vuvale Partnership between Fiji and Australia continues to expand mutual cooperation in areas of climate resilience, economic recovery and regional development.

This was articulated at a courtesy call received by the Permanent Secretary (PS) for the Office of the Prime and Foreign Affairs, Mr Yogesh Karan from the Chargé d’affaires of the Australian High Commission, John Williams, yesterday (13/9/22).

PS Karan said the Vuvale Partnership presents great opportunities for further cooperation between Fiji and Australia.

Discussions highlighted Australia’s effort in strengthening labor mobility arrangements through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme and further increasing opportunities for Fijian workers, through cooperation in this area.

Australia’s support to Fiji in economic recovery and rebuilding efforts from the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, was acknowledged at the meeting.
