Fiji’s Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro, is advancing the regional conversation on early childhood development (ECD) during the 2025 Pacific ECD Forum currently underway in Apia, Samoa.
The three-day event, opened by Samoa’s Prime Minister, Hon. Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa, is bringing together leaders from 15 Pacific nations under the theme “Children, Our Hieritage: Blue Pacific Resilience Through ECD”. The forum is jointly hosted by the Government of Samoa and UNICEF Pacific.
In a key highlight, Minister Radrodro co-launched the Pacific Regional Review of Early Childhood Education (ECE) Curricula alongside Tuvalu’s Minister for Education, Youth and Sports, Timi Melei, and the Federated States of Micronesia’s Secretary for Education, Ms. Gardenia Aisek.
Fiji’s cross-sectoral delegation includes the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Atonio Lalabalavu, and the Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Sashi Kiran, signalling the nation’s holistic approach to ECD.
Day two of the forum continues with a spotlight on strengthening support for parents and caregivers across the Pacific, reinforcing the importance of nurturing environments for young children to thrive.
