Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has expressed Fiji’s solidarity and support for the people of Myanmar and Thailand following the devastating earthquake that struck Southeast Asia on 28 March 2025.
In an official statement, the Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people and Government of Fiji to families who lost loved ones. He also wished a swift recovery to those injured.
Fiji’s diplomatic missions in the region have confirmed the safety of all Fijians in Myanmar and Thailand and continue to monitor the situation in coordination with local authorities.
“I urge all Fijians in the affected areas to remain alert and comply with local safety measures,” Prime Minister Rabuka said.
He reaffirmed Fiji’s solidarity with the governments and people of Myanmar and Thailand, offering prayers for peace and comfort during this difficult time.
