The Fiji Women’s Cricket under-19 team presented their itatau to the President of Fiji, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere who commended their dedication and acknowledged their historic achievement as the first female team to represent Fiji in cricket. 

“Cricket can be considered a minor sport but to have come this far is an achievement. Being the first female team to represent this country at a cricket tournament is another achievement,” said Katonivere.

Fiji Cricket Head Coach, Sanjiv Dubey said that the team was selected from various clubs nationwide and has been training for months.  

The Fiji U19 Women’s cricket team is confident for the upcoming East Asia World Cup Qualifiers which will be held in Bali, Indonesia. The winner will secure a spot in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup next year.
