When Rampur College athlete Lora Francesca ran barefoot and won the 3000m girls open grade final at the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2 athletics competition, she sent her schoolmates into a frenzy.

Her outstanding effort also caught the attention of Telecom Fiji Limited.

And yesterday, Telecom Fiji announced its support for the Navua lass.

Chief executive officer Charles Goundar said Telecom Fiji recognized Francesca’s exceptional determination and potential, was proud to champion young talent, and presented her with a gift certificate from JR White to purchase running shoes and additional gear for the competition finals.

“At Telecom, we are committed to supporting Fijian athletes and their journeys to success,” said Mr Goundar said.

“Francesca’s story is an inspiration, and we are honoured to play a small role in helping her achieve her dreams.

“We believe that investing in young athletes like Francesca is an investment in the future of Fiji.
