The fuel prices will drop starting today, while the cost of gas will increase.

The Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications in conjunction with the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has determined the new regulated price for Unleaded Petrol (Motor Spirit), Premix, Kerosene, Diesel and LPG products for December 2023.

The price of unleaded fuel decreases by 16 cents to $3.02 per litre.

Diesel will now cost $2.83 per litre, a decrease by 20 cents.

Kerosene will now cost $2.22 per litre while the price of premix goes down by 20 cents and will now cost $2.83 per litre.

A 4.5kg cylinder of gas will cost $15.82, while the price of 12kg cylinder increases by 72 cents and will cost $42.18.

Bulk gas will cost $3.25 per kg while autogas will cost $2.28 per litre.

The Fiji Government is pleased to note the reduction of the fuel prices, however, is aware of the increase in the price of LPG for December 2023. We are aware of the challenges of a Small Island Developing States like Fiji, as a price-taker of international commodities price movements which can impact on affecting businesses and consumers in Fiji.

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica  urged businesses to set the price accordingly and ensure consumers are levied correct prices.

The Ministry will continue to work with FCCC to monitor the international movements of fuel prices and hope more financial relief will be provided to the consumers going forward.
