Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has stressed that the government will have no choice but to respect and follow whatever the outcome of the investigation into the Commission of Inquiry (COI) report is, once it is referred to the relevant authorities.
Rabuka confirmed that the report has not yet been forwarded to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed receiving the Commission of Inquiry report into the appointment of Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner.
Rabuka stated that he had a good discussion with the President, and they are of the view that the report should be made public.
He said they can only do this once arrangements are made for the presentation of the report.
When asked about the advice he gave the President to take these actions, given that the Constitution assigns these powers to the Judicial Services Commission Rabuka said the President acted on the recommendations.
