The Minister for Health & Medical Services, Hon. Dr. Ratu Atonio Rabici Lalabalavu, has commended ten second-year medical interns who have volunteered to serve in Fiji’s maritime regions as part of their Public Health Rotation.
Dr. Lalabalavu praised the interns for their dedication to healthcare, especially in remote and isolated communities, stating, “This is indeed a great initiative and timely as well, especially with great interest in serving in isolated healthcare facilities.”
The ten medical interns and their assigned locations are:
Divisional Medical Officer Eastern, Dr. Sravaniya Dasi, also expressed gratitude, reminding the interns of their crucial role in strengthening primary healthcare within the Eastern Division.
This initiative not only addresses the shortage of medical personnel in remote areas but also provides young doctors with invaluable experience in community health.
