Fijian sprinter Heleina Young has been awarded the title of Outstanding Female Athlete at the 2025 Pacific Mini Games following a dominant campaign that saw her claim three gold and two silver medals on the track.
Young won gold in the 200 metres, 400 metres, and women’s 4x400m relay, and took silver in the mixed 4x400m and women’s 4x100m relays.
Her standout performances contributed significantly to Team Fiji’s athletics medal tally.
A former rugby standout, Young has now cemented her place among Fiji’s all-time athletics elite.
She holds the second-fastest time by a Fijian woman in the 100m (11.82 seconds), and after her performance in the 2025 Games, has risen to No. 2 all-time in the 200m (24.01s) and No. 5 in the 400m (56.07s).
Her versatility and success across individual and team events have drawn praise from officials and fans, highlighting her as one of the top athletes in the Pacific region.
