The Defence Club, a historic landmark was razed to the ground this morning by fire.
The incident unfolded around 8:15 am leaving the cherished building reduced to ashes.
The National Fire Authority are actively engaged in combating the flames, but the severity of the damage was extensive.
Eyewitnesses on the scene described the situation as both heartbreaking and chaotic, with thick plumes of smoke engulfing the sky.
The Suva Fire Department responded swiftly to the alarm, but the intensity of the blaze presented a significant challenge.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
