Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board Interim Chairman, Peter Mazey has apology to the management of the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side for staying outside of the Sydney Airport for four hours during their travel from Fiji to Dubai.

Mazey stated that it was sad the incident occurred but it has taught them a lot of lesson and will not happen again certainly not on their watch.

He says upon their arrival coach Saisai Fuli tried to get rooms in nearby hotels but none were available.

Normally the team manager would attend to any outstanding matters such as booking rooms in this instance but regrettably she was not with the team as she was returning from the Pacific Games in Solomon and joined the team in Dubai later.

He adds despite the sad experience the girls were than treated to a well earned rest and sleep on the 15 hour flight from Sydney to Dubai by the Emirates Airline and were all upgraded to a business class experience.

Since this trip the General Manager of High Performance and Women’s High Performance manager have begun meetings will team managers prior to teams leaving for overseas tournaments.
