Labasa Football Club has begun preparations for the upcoming Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion series against Rewa FC, with training already underway.
Despite the temporary absence of head coach Ravneel Pratap due to personal commitments, interim coaches Alvin Chand and Mohammed Imran are overseeing the sessions, keeping the team focused.
Club president Rayaz Khan expressed his confidence in the team’s readiness, highlighting the importance of the CVC series as an opportunity to showcase the Babasiga Lions’ strength.
Labasa has won the title three times previously, in 2017, 2020, and 2021, and is set to field a strong squad featuring both experienced players and emerging talent.
Khan confirmed that no current players are seeking transfers, though former striker Ratu Anare has expressed interest in rejoining.
The club is also exploring the possibility of bringing in overseas players, including from the Solomon Islands.
The first leg of the CVC series will take place at Subrail Park in Labasa on 1 February, with the second leg at Ratu Cakobau Park on 9 February.
