Fiji Pine Limited, Tropik Wood Industries Ltd and Nabou Green Energy Pte Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote renewable energy initiatives through ecosystem-based strategies.
The partnership, supported by the government, looks to advance Fiji’s climate change mitigation efforts by focusing on sustainable energy and forest management.
The MOU outlines two key areas of collaboration which are fuelwood planting and technical cooperation to expand fuelwood plantations on idle land in the Nabou Forest of Nadroga.
This partnership is expected to accelerate the development of Fiji’s biofuel industry and reduce lease terms to approximately 20 years.
