Nakorotubu Secondary School today celebrated the commissioning of a new 1×2 classroom block by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro.
The $49,000 project, funded by the Ministry of Education, responds to the school’s increasing enrolment- rising from 71 students in 2024 to 107 in 2025; and aims to reduce overcrowding while improving the overall learning environment for students and teachers.
In his remarks, Radrodro commended the dedication of school staff and the village community, thanking all those who contributed to the successful completion of the project.
He encouraged continued parental involvement and acknowledged the resilience of teachers working in rural areas.
“This is not just a building- it’s an investment in our children’s future. Your commitment to education is building a stronger Fiji,” he said.
The new classrooms are part of ongoing efforts by the Coalition Government to improve school infrastructure and learning conditions across the country.
