Fiji Television Limited’s Board has announced the appointment of Sunjeewa Perera as its Chief Executive Officer effective from today.

Perera joins Fiji TV with leadership experience from telecommunications and marketing functions; having previous held positions as Chief Commercial Officer with BlueSky Samoa and Chief Marketing Officer with Vodafone Fiji.

FIJITV Board Chairman Nesbit Hazelman says the board looks forward to Perera’s transformational leadership in reviewing FijiTV’s current business model, set a new strategic direction with the Board of Fiji Television and deliver business turnaround that will reinforce shareholder confidence, meet shareholder expectations and outline a Growth Agenda that positively contributes to the FHL Group’s profitability.

Hazelman also acknowledged Poonam Nandani’s leadership and commitment in heading Fiji Television the past 10 months as Manager Finance and Acting General Manager.

Under her leadership, Fiji TV had launched two new programs and the improvement of news reach through its social media channel by 246 percent.

This included a positive growth of revenue in the last financial year by 39 percent against 2022.

Nandani will continue to be part of executive team and resume her principal role as Manager Finance and Company Secretary effective from today.
