Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has called on Fiji’s civil servants and national leaders to renew their dedication to public service, emphasizing sacrifice, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the people and the state.

Speaking during the Combined Easter Church Service at Centenary Methodist Church in Suva, Prime Minister Rabuka delivered a heartfelt address to ministers, permanent secretaries, senior police officers, and civil servants, urging them to reflect deeply on their roles as servants of the nation.

Drawing inspiration from the Easter message, PM Rabuka reminded attendees of the ultimate sacrifice made by Christ, highlighting that this same spirit of selflessness should define the lives and duties of those serving in government roles.

“Public service is a calling,” he said. “It demands personal sacrifice—of our time, our energy, and often our comfort—for the greater good of all Fijians.”

He encouraged civil servants to stand strong in their responsibilities, reminding them that their decision to serve came with the expectation to lead with purpose, humility, and resolve.

“As we commemorate this season of sacrifice, let’s recommit ourselves to serve faithfully, to rise to the occasion, and to fulfill the trust placed in us by the people,” Rabuka said.
