Restaurant owner and renowned chef Lance Seeto was found dead in his home in Suva today.
Acting Divisional Police Commander Central Isoa Natui confirmed the discovery of his body in his home this morning at Clarke Street.
Police say the circumstances around his death are unknown at this stage.
A report was received at the Totogo Police Station from a colleague after he went to the victim’s home to check on him as several attempts to make contact had been futile.
The colleague discovered the victim lying motionless and alerted police.
Officers from the Crime Scene Investigations Unit were deployed to the scene to conduct the initial phases of the investigation.
Chef Seeto is known as an icon of South Pacific cuisine.
Lance also worked closely with tourism stakeholders to promote Fiji as a new food destination, and his television series “Taste of Paradise” was a finalist in the 2016 Asia Broadcasting Union awards.
