The Fiji Police Force has imposed movement restrictions in Nadi Town in response to ongoing safety concerns.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, confirmed that the Police will closely monitor all activity within the town.
“This is for the safety of all Fijians and security of Central Bussiness Area of Nadi. This is also done to protect the properties in town from opportunists,” he stated.
ACP Driu said teams have been mobilised and are actively engaged in evacuating individuals from disaster-affected areas.
The Fiji Police Force will continue to monitor and respond to developments in the flooded areas of the Western Division.
