In a display of regional solidarity, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are joining forces to support the safe conduct of the upcoming Solomon Islands Elections.

Twenty police officers from Fiji are among the delegation, contributing to a security operation led by the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in collaboration with Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji.

The presence of Fiji’s police officers, alongside their counterparts from the RFMF, underscores the commitment to regional cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the Pacific.

The Fiji Police Force expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute a specialist tactical team from the Police Mobile Force, reflecting their ongoing dedication to capacity-building initiatives in the region.

This deployment aligns with broader regional policing efforts coordinated under the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation.

By fostering collaboration and sharing resources and capabilities, participating nations aim to enhance operational effectiveness and ensure the safety and security of the Solomon Islands Elections.

The involvement of Fiji, Australia, and other regional partners highlights the collective commitment to upholding democratic principles and supporting stability in the Pacific region.

Through collaborative endeavors and shared engagement, the Pacific community continues to demonstrate its resolve in addressing common challenges and promoting peace and prosperity for all.
