Newly crowned FMF Miss Hibiscus 2026, Sala Korosaya, is celebrating more than a crown, with her family’s support playing an important role throughout her journey.
From the first day of the festival to the final crowning, her family stood beside her, helping her stay focused through the challenges and pressure of the week.
FMF Miss Hibiscus 2026, Sala Korosaya, highlighted that having the right support system made a difference throughout her journey.
“I was able to relax through it, have my cool through it, just because of the support system that I have. That’s really important for young people, when they have the right support system, the right family members, they have the guide, they have the protector, I think anything is possible in Fiji” Sala highlighted.
For her mother, Sereima Korosaya, the family’s support meant being there every step of the way, sharing in Sala’s challenges and eventually her proudest moment.
“Yes, we’ve been there since day one. We’ve been sitting there the whole afternoon until late night just to see her sitting there. To her, it means a lot and to us too, it’s very important” her mother said.
Sala’s father, Matai Korosaya, believes the support and guidance young people receive at home can help shape their future.
“We are the future leaders of tomorrow. But we really need to change… Home is the foundation of everything. When the home is good, we will produce good leaders” he said.
For Sala, the crown may carry her name, but her journey reflects the strength of a family that stood behind her from the beginning.
