Members of Sawa Youth Club are the new recipients of the assistance under the Youth Grant programme and Youth Farm Initiative programme.
The Minister for Youth and Sports, Parveen Kumar Bala, was present at the grant handover ceremony at Sawa Village in Verata,Tailevu on Tuesday (23/08/22).
The grant was provided to them in the form of brush cutters and accessories.
Minister Bala said Fijian youth who wish to start businesses can always access this Government grant to assist them in setting up their businesses.
“The Fijian Government believes that youth empowerment through their active participation in economic activities, will harness the ingenuity and creativity of these youth and will help Government in building a modern and knowledge-based society,” Minister Bala said.
Additionally, they were handed over a grant under the Youth Farm Initiative programme comprising of a Rotovator Land Tiller machine and seedlings.
