The Ministry of Education confirms that schools in the West will resume from tomorrow.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, in collaboration with the National Disaster Risk Management Office and relevant authorities, wishes to inform all parents, guardians, and stakeholders that the following schools in the Western Division will remain closed tomorrow, 05 March 2026, as they are still operating as evacuation centres:

• Nokonoko District School

• Andrews Primary School

• Nawaka District School

• Nadi Muslim College

• Lovu Sangam School

All other schools in the Western Division may reopen.

Schools in the Northern, Eastern, and Central Divisions will continue to operate as normal, and weather conditions across all four divisions are currently reported to be fine.

Parents and guardians are reminded to take precautionary measures as we are still in the hurricane season, and changes in weather patterns may result in rain or localised flooding. Parents are also urged to ensure children do not attempt to cross flooded roads, creeks, or rivers, to avoid unnecessary travel, and to continue monitoring official weather updates and advisories.

Heads of schools are advised to remain in close communication with their Management Committees, District Education Offices, and Divisional Education Offices, as weather updates will be provided by the Ministry of Education.

The safety and welfare of students, teachers, and families remain our highest priority. The Ministry will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates as necessary.
