The Social Democratic Liberal Party is divided on who should be the new leader.

Aseri Radrodro is due to be endorsed as the new leader during SODELPA AGM at the Civic Centre in Suva today.

President of SODELPA Ba West Seremaia Tuiteci says the resolution of the members from
the Ba West constituency is to support Viliame Gavoka as party leader.

“We had our meeting and in our resolution we support the current PL and want proper procedure followed in the understanding we won the elections with three seats.”

Under the SODELPA constitution, the party leader is appointed by the management board through a competitive, transparent, nationally recognised selection process, before the second meeting of the General Assembly following the last general election

Tuiteci later walked out of the meeting.

He was not happy that the party did not follow the agenda of the AGM.

Last month, the party advertised the role through the Pacific People Recruitment Agency. Only three applications were received and Gavoka did not apply.

Meanwhile, responding to Fiji One News, Gavoka says the meeting is going well.
