Ten outstanding individuals were recognised at the State House for their commitment to personal growth and community service through the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards.
The President of Fiji highlighted the program’s alignment with youth development goals, promising ongoing support for young citizens.
The Awards, which targeted those aged 14-24, encourages diverse activities in service, skills, physical recreation and adventurous journeys.
The non-formal education model complements formal learning, fostering confidence, networking skills and community appreciation.
The recipients, aged between 16 and 23, hail from four youth clubs in the Central Division, with the government acknowledging their families’ support.
The awardees are Tevita Geka, Savaira Lebamaiwasa, Emele Saufa’asi, Adi Vesutikoyaconagauna Saitoro, Josivini Taoba Loaniceva, Alumita Gaunatawamudu Saitoro, Lote Daulakeba, Selina Daulakeba, Amali Naitaci Kauyaca, and Taito Ledua Dakunivosa.
